We are currently experiencing a very cool and wet spring. So, knowing what this can do for Laetiporus species I took yesterday off and spent some time in the woods searching the big red oaks that I have had success on in the past springs and falls. I hit the mother load, but the one that really got me was this one....it was growing about 30 inches up on what otherwise appeared to be a very healthy Red oak tree, layered and stacked, and white pored as can be! When I first saw it I knew it was L. sulfurous...I was wrong! It was a great day and I only hope that all of you have one too.
