Cap: 5-10cm, whitish up to light gray or brownish-gray, often irregular colored as clouds with indistinct white spots, smooth, convex or broadly convex (sometimes with indistinct gentle knob or irregular shape when crowded) up to almost flat or sunken and broken with radial cracks in wet weather. Margin slightly curved in for convex caps. Flesh is white. Odor is strong and unpleasant. Gills: attached up to almost free (when old), narrow, close, white or cream-white up to brownish-white when dried or old. Stalk: 4-8cm long, white 1.5-3cm thick, enlarged toward down sometimes bulbous for young units, usually intergrows each other and some fibrous brownish-white for old ones. Habitat: small groups or crowded clusters scattered in pine-tree forest with some birches. Edibility: local people do not gather this kind because bad smelt. June - September.
