1. A cluster was growing on a rotting log. 2. Largest caps were perhaps 30 inches in diameter, stipe about 2 inches in diameter, height approximately 10 inches. 3. Neither cap, nor stipe, nor lamellae were brittle. Feels like an oyster mushroom. Does not exude any milky juice. 4. Cap was dry (even though it was raining), white with yellowish specs, somewhat fuzzy, stipe and lamellae dry. 5. When I broke the mushroom, the edges became yellow/dark yellow. Not immediately, after some time (~30 minutes). 6. Smell strong and unpleasant. Can't describe it. maybe like old mushroom? slightly fishy? not sure. 7. Young and old (or rather, small and large) mushrooms looked the same in color. 8. Stipe very hairy. 9. Lamellae look like the paxillus. Somewhat decurrent? 10. Tried a sporeprint on dark and white paper overnight, did not get anything. 11. Does not disintegrate rapidly (was left outside overnight, did not change much except the top of the cap does not look fuzzy anymore.
