Cap: 4-10cm gently convex and margin curved down, up to flat or sunken when old with wavy margin, white or brownish-white, grayish-white up to yellowish-white, then dull yellow or dull-yellowish-brown when old or dried; odor is pleasant. Flesh is white, yellowish-white when old or dried. Gills: descending along all stalk, radial branching, narrow, close white, then yellowish-white. Stalk: 0.5-2cm long, 1-2cm thick covered with gills and inter grows with wood; white, then yellowish- white. Stalk is at the edge of a cap bottom. Edibility: good. Habitat: small groups on partially rotten birch stumps or trunks, minor at living birches. Season: June - September.
