Original observation #181233 (Mushroom Observer)
Sequenced; Under mixed pine and hardwood. No odor. Cap not viscid. In the field I thought the spores were dark purple brown, but now that they are dried and I am looking at them closely in the sunlight, they look more like a medium chocolate brown. Cheilocystidia and pleurocystidia abundant and very similar. Most of the cystidia are hyaline, however some have a bright yellow color in both water and KOH. Basidia 2 and 4 spored, and very small compared to the cystidia. Spores slightly inequilateral, ellipsoid in face view and mango shaped in side view. Hilar appendage is conspicuous. No germ pore can be seen. Spore statistics: 5.4 [5.9 ; 6.3] 6.8 x 2.9 [3.3 ; 3.7] 4.1 µm Q = 1.4 [1.7 ; 1.8] 2.1 ; N = 15 ; C = 95% Me = 6.1 x 3.5 µm ; Qe = 1.8 6.47 3.68 5.61 3.61 6.42 3.57 5.70 3.38 6.06 3.30 6.15 2.94 5.48 3.93 6.80 4.27 6.22 3.43 6.14 3.22 5.75 3.37 6.05 3.65 6.39 3.46 6.34 3.18 6.30 3.61
