Description: Original observation #193013 (Mushroom Observer)
Occurrence Remarks: Cream to light yellow caps 30-37 mm diameter with an incuvered to decurved margin; Dry when found. Gills adnate to adnexed, close to subdistant with whitish edges. Flesh white, unchanging, relatuvely thick. Stipe white, solid, brittle with white flesh, 25-32 mm long x 8-12 mm at apex, relatively equal. No odor or taste detected. Terrestrial under hybrid Hazelnut Trees. Spore print rust brown (Meth.) 6E8, and approx. 10-12.5 um long x approx 5-6.25 um wide. Spores were measured about 1 1/2 months after obtaining them. Not sure if they returned to their original size after immersion. Feb.13, 2015. Researching today has led me to believe that this is Hebeloma hiemale due to the gills being close to subdistant as opposed to the crowded gills of H. crustuliniforme.
