Selected for the indicated MycoFlora sequencing project. NAMP collection â„- MF54418. Collected by J. L. Smithson at the NJMA club foray in mixed deciduous woods of oak, hornbeam and ash. Description: Caps <1" in diameter, yellow (somewhere between oac811 and oac812), slightly corrugated, lacking a sterile flap, and bruising brown; cap context dingy yellow below the cuticle and whitish elsewhere, staining reddish-brown quickly and eventually resolving blackish; pore surface and tubes concolorous, pale yellowish-tan, and bruising brown; stipes dingy white, covered with black scabers, surface bruising blackish when handled; stipe context dingy white, staining reddish-brown quickly in the upper 3/4 and grayish-violet (fuscous?) in the lower 1/4. The basidiomata turned completely dark brown/blackish in the dehydrator. No chemical tests were performed.
