Habitat: growing along gravel driveway; substrate gravel/sand/leaf litter; mixed woods all around (Hemlock nearby). Cap: diam ~7cm, convex with center slightly depressed, margins rolled over, color = yellow-tinged/tan, darkening to brown in center, surface smooth. Gills: decurrent, close and branching, cinnamon. Stalk: diam ~1cm, length 3cm nearly equal, upper third covered with yellowish fibrils, less so below, otherwise colored as gills. Growth Habit, etc.: single individual (so not collected); no chemical, taste, or spore data. Matches quite well with Chroogomphus rutilus as described by Bessette, et al. pp. 77, 276
