Brought to MAW meeting by Raymond LaSala; tentatively identified by Tom McCoy. Flesh is white, dense, non-staining, with pleasant, somewhat strong, mushroomy aroma. Cap is smooth and brown with some bloom, margin curved inward, gills soggy, not appearing firm with pronounced 'veining' between gills, particularly near the stipe. Stipe bulbous with granular brown scales becoming smoother more continuous brown near the base. Base of stipe nearly pointed with crust of white mycelium and some small 'rootlets'.
