This robust and attractive specimen, featuring a well-preserved and prominent double annulus and growing late in the season, was collected in the North Gate area of FPP. Rows of recurving scales (a bit underdeveloped at this stage of maturity), brown bruising on the bulb and the pleasant odor are well-known characters for unambiguous identification of this species. This mushroom was displayed at NJMA's annual Fungus Fest public event at Frelinghuysen Arboretum on Nov. 1st, but probably not saved.
