Location: Kingfisher Canyon, Avila Beach, San Luis Obispo county, California Habitat: oak woodland (Q. agrifolia) Substrate: duff Cap: 14 cm w; context 10 mm thick; plano-convex; glabrous; pale butter yellow with a 10 cm wide thick splotch of universal veil tissue on top that looked like white cream frosting; striate margin; odor mild Gills: ivory white; adnexed; about ½ cm deep Stipe: 10 cm h x 2.5 cm w; cylindrical; white throughout; solid, but slightly softer in the center; annulus; mostly smooth, but with a little fibrous texture below the annulus that discolored dark grey-brown with handling; above the annulus smoother and did not did not discolor (or very little) with handling; volva (like the stipe was sitting loosely in a cup; the stipe lifted out of it easily); odor mild Spores: white
