Found in wood chips under White Pine (Pinus strobus). Fragrant odor, slippery. Striate-sulcate margin in older specimens. Gills close to sub-distant with some forking near the stipe. Did not taste it. R. amoenolens is brown; R. fragrantissima, and R. laurocerasi have dull yellow colors, but the former is of a lager size than R. foetentula and R. laurocerasi is more slender than R. fragrantissima.
