I only saw this species once (observation 113089) and it was in the way to the target point of that field trip, more than three and a half years ago. However, the information that I got at the time about it (mainly from Jason Hollinger, of course) permited me to recognize these specimens immediately. If at the first time the thallus was small, this time I could see two sets of thalli (the other will be considered at another observation) both with specimens at different stages of development. Moreover, in the other set there were fertile specimens, which permits to rule out the only similar species existing here: P. extenuata. The habitat was shared with other lichens: mainly several species of Cladonia, some species of Leptogium, Polychidium muscicola
