Pluteus leoninus (Schaeff.) P. Kumm., Pluteaceae, Agaricales. (Плютей львино-желтый). Cap: 4-7cm, bright lemon-yellow up to orange-yellow with a darker spot in the centre, smooth, gentle cone up to broadly convex or almost flat, some sticky in wet weather, sometimes with indistinct knob and radial wavy when old. Flesh is white. Gills: free, moderately broad, close, whitish up pinkish when old, sometimes lemon-white or orange yellow near a cap margin. Stalk: 6-10cm long, 0.7-1.2cm thick and slightly enlarged toward base, yellowish-white up to dull yellowish-brown or orange-yellow; fibrous. Habitat: rare kind, single or small group at the old partially rotten deciduous stumps or trunks (mainly rotten birch wood) in wet mixed forest. Edibility: edible after boiling. June-August (?).
