Original observation #244431 (Mushroom Observer)
Hemlock with oak and other hardwoods mixed in. Cap pale (faded) red with olivaceous overtones, cuticle shallowly cracked and minutely scaly. Pores yellow with reddish highlights, irregularly shaped. Bruising blue. Stipe red but mottled with pale yellow below and paler above. Whitish basal mycelium. Bruising blue. Context pale yellow in cap, yellow in stipe. Not bluing. No discernible odor. Spores subfusiform, 9-12 x 4-4.5. KOH: greenish-yellow on cap, yellowish to pale orange on cap context, orange on pores, muddy orange on stipe surface, orangish on stipe context. Probably the same as obs 244430. Not the exact same spot, but very similar habitat.
