Original observation #245436 (Mushroom Observer)
Collected at Udall Knoll at elev 9,300 feet, with aspen and mixed conifers. Mushrooms with silvery color (hence the common name "tin cap amanita"), exannulate, striate cap, stem with crumbly volva; volval fragments and velar material on cap and stem with dirty / ochraceous discolorations. No real odor when fresh but strong "meaty" somewhat savory smell when dried; not unpleasant or fishy etc.
