Four specimens collected in mix of Eastern Hemlock, birch, and Ironwood. Caps were rosy red, stipe sulfur yellow or paler with a faint blush of red at the bottom. Pores bruise dak blue immediately, flesh bruises quickly blue in the cap and fades to pale cream. Flesh in the stipe bruise blue with a hint of green and the blue is more persistent there. Flesh bright yellow in the stipe, duller yellow in the cap. All smell strongly of fenegreek or stale maple syrup. Very slight reticulation at apex of stipe. KOH on flesh=amber to pale orange.KOH on pores dark red.KOH on cap cuticle orangish.KOH on stipe surface yellow changing to amber/orange.FeSO4 on cap cuticle olive green.NH4OH on cut flesh orange with a center of pale olive green.NH4OH on cap pale yellow/orange then greenish.Tubes about 6mm deep. Pores yellow 2/mm.
