Russula claroflava Grove. ss. Melz, & Zv., J. Schff., Russulaceae, Agaricales. (Graying Yellow Russula. Сыроежка желтая, сыроежка светло-желтая или бледно-желтая). Cap: 4-10cm convex up to flattened and rarely sunken in the centre, sometimes cushion-shaped with incurved margin when young, some sticky when wet, smooth; yellow or light yellow up to dull yellow, sometimes orange-yellow when young or hot dry time (the older mushroom is the lighter yellow color). Odor is weak and pleasant. Old cap sometimes is without skin along 1-2mm margin edge. Flesh is brittle, white up to dull yellowish-white and loose when dying; light gray after boiling. Gills: attached and pinching out toward stalk, close to almost distant; moderately broad, color from white up to yellowish-white (light yellow when partially rotten). Stalk: 4-7cm long, white up to dull yellowish-white or light gray when dry time (sometimes light gray after cutting); 1.2-2.5cm thick, usually enlarging down, loose or irregular hollow with aging. Habitat: common kind for this site, but not abundant; small group minor single scattered in pine-tree forest with some birches and aspen. Edibility: good (several methods of cooking). June - September.
