Hydnellum concrescens (Pers.) Banker Cap: 2-6 cm wide (for single mushroom), often accreted by two up to by 7 or more, almost flat or shallow vase-shaped, often asymmetric; concentric coloured: light brown, pinkish-brown and brown (minor yellowish-brown) with outer white ring, indistinct radial hairy; lower side is hairy with short spines, cream-white, brownish or pinkish-white. Stalk: 2-3 cm long, 2-4mm thick, fine hairy and light brown up to dark brown. Edibility: stiff as a wood bark. Habitat: crowded accreted clusters (after hard rains) or small group on the ground with pine needles or on pine roots in pine-tree forest with rare birches. July - September
