In soil in mainly oak/hickory woods. Cap 5 cm. with striate margin, stipe 2.5 cm. Kuo describes the cap of this species as brownish-orange to orangish-brown. Cap with shallow depression. Gills spotting and forked near the stem. Associated with oaks.
