This was found inside of a hollowed out area of an Oak tree. I think a red oak, what we call a water oak here. There are Live Oaks and Hickory and Holly in the area, as well as pines. There were many of these that seemed to be living off the hollow of the tree's center. These smelled like the Lion's Mane mushroom, and were somewhat flexible when removed, (I only took one for a sample). I am trying to get a spore print now. There was no discernable stipe and no bruising when cut.
