Single basidiocarp growing from a well-rotted, decorticated and partially buried hardwood log in the floodplain of a creek near Platanus occidentalis, Populus deltoides, Asimina triloba, Acer negundo, Aesculus flava and Ulmus sp. No surfaces bruising. Young gills white. Cap brown and smooth. Pileipellis a cutis with simple septae among the hyphae. Intermediate cystidia fusiform. Cheilocystidia hooked and not forming a well-defined strip along the true gill edge. Pleurocystidia abundant and fusiform.
