Having just read Lawrence Millman's article in the most recent FUNGI journal about this tiny, orange ascomycete ("A particularly large specimen may be a millimeter in diameter ...") that fruits in the resin oozing from White Pine cankers, I could hardly believe my luck when I spotted these specimens fruiting from the resin of the first White Pine I encountered. These specimens measured barely 0.5 mm. In the thumbnail image, that's my thumbnail (for scale) -- no pun intended -- in the lower left side of the photo.
