Original observation #272043 (Mushroom Observer)
Notes:
Found both mushrooms in the same area and thought one was the juvenile of the other. Growing at the base of an unknown mostly dead shrub and there may have been buried wood there also. I'm calling it G. thiersii as that was the consensus on California Mushroom Identification Forum as a likely species.
