This is a complement to my posting on 3 - 29, on the same species.. We had a meeting of our mushroom club, SIMA, several people brought this mushroom from different locations, and in different conditions. So is spread around the valley. I identified them by sight to be the same of my previous finding, which I believe to be Clitocybe brunneocephala. It checks as described on the posting on 3 - 29. There are two possible objections to this identification: The range was considered till now much smaller, mainly Ca. However Boise is much lower that an observation here in Carson City, NV. The spore, while it checks in size, appears smooth. But I see several observations also here that describe them as smooth. Is it possible that the spores of C. brunneocephala are in fact smooth? Have anybody check them and found them to be rough?
