Original observation #277298 (Mushroom Observer)
The first time I saw a specimen of this species under the scope I doubted that it was an Hebeloma, since the spores were unusually hyaline and smooth for a member of that genus. However, according to Dr. H. Beker and his team, this is H. subtortum, a member of the section Hebeloma. That name was already familiar to me, since it was already proposed for a specimen (see observation 259238) found at another place. Here I found it in two consecutive days at the same zone of this big location, in an habitat dominated by Quercus trees but with some disperse pines. Looking to the photos it seems that there were pines very close. It was a big collection and the existence of very young specimens permit to see the cortina in some, one of the characteristics of the members of section Hebeloma.
