big fruiting of 70+ fruitbodies, largest cap 10CM, striation 9mm from edge or about 1/5 of the distance to the center. Caps were young, convex not expanded and 3-6 cm diameter. Tacky to the touch after rain, warts on some, absent on others. Annulus barely noticable on young FB's. Basla bulb round or maybe slightly bulged in middle, voval material tightly adhering. Stipes average 14cm thich, 5-8 cm long. No smell, no taste. Basal mycelium white, sometimes cordlike. Cap pale orange/tan, darker over disc. This was at the entrance to the picnic area of Devil's Hopyard SP in CT. The FB's were not associated with any single or even two trees but rather stretched out over several Eastern Hemlock over a 50 yard swath with young Beech and red oak also present.
