Found growing under live oak after this week's heavy rains. Lemon yellow pore surface in younger material. Darker drab greenish pore surface in older. Yellow context with occasional rusty red staining, particularly around larvae tunnels. Pileus is dark brown to chestnut, though I wonder if the rain has influenced the color. Stipe is variable: scurfy, with a yellow ground and rusty red fibrils that seem more common and pervasive in older specimens. Taste and odor are mild. Does not stain blue.
