I've been finding this certain species of Gymnopilus growing on dead wood of Prosopis glandulosa (honey mesquite) over that last couple if years. Very bitter species that I've found displaying some blue green staining with fresh mushrooms in moist conditions but rarely does it stain in dryer conditions. This was a day or 2 after a moderate rain but the air dries quickly with the onset of the daily heat.
