Growing gregariously in shade along the margin of a dirt road cutting through a dark and somber Atlantic white cedar bog. Cartilaginous stipes snap easily. The stipes terminate in a small oblong bulb. Rusty brown spore print. The egg-shaped spores with a truncated top end are smooth. I measured a couple of spores without a mounting agent at x400, and they were in the 10 x 7 micron range.
