During one of our excursions with the 'We Love Mushroom' group, Carolien Reijndertsen, who lead the foray, found some remarkably pale Coprinellus sect. Micacei. Initially, in the field, I thought they could be the illusive Coprinellus pallidissimus, but microscopy revealed broadly ovoid to submitriform spores and lack of caulocystidia, meaning we have collected the second record of Coprinellus saccharinus for the Netherlands! I am very excited to have seen, identified and archived this taxon. Both Jan Knuiman and Thomas W. Kuyper have confirmed the identification.
