A single, immature, but stout-built fruiting body, growing in grass under old oaks. The taste was mild. The flesh erratically stained pinkish brown, mostly above the tubes and at the juncture with the stipe. KOH = cherry-red on cap and dark yellow on cap & stipe flesh.
