I found these very young specimens growing in Perry County, Arkansas. The trees associated with it were hickory, red oak and pine. They looked at first like immature Gomphus clavatus but something was different about them. I called Jay Justice over to look at them and he did more research on them and decided they were Gomphus ludovicianus. First time finding them for me. A rather rare fungi for Arkansas.
