All white, ragged, shaggy stipe, ventricose, tapering at base(slightly bruising brown where handled)-smoky gray/purple veil remnant towards apex. Caps- are dome shaped, viscous, glutinous, light brownish to white, with incurved margins, purple gray remnants on margin(similar to behavior of mature H. fasciculare and H. capnoides ). Spore print-purple/gray. Odor- lightly fungaloid, pleasant. Gills crowded with short alternating sections. Gill edges NOT RAGGED-as with Neolentinus, Lentinus , etc. Fruiting from buried conifer wood(Douglas fir).
