Original observation #301126 (Mushroom Observer)
Sequenced; Fruiting in heavy, nitrogen rich bark mulch-some fruiting bodies in collection attached to deer droppings. Cap: has a less papillate cap center/apex than true P. semilanceata. Smaller in stature than P. semilanceata and or P. pelliculosa. Less yellow and darker brown overall in fresh specimens than P. silvatica. Caps are hygrophanous and change quickly from viscid brown/tan to white and somewhat buff with dark purple/brown spore deposits to cap margin and gill edges. Spore print: purple brown. Not fruiting in grass, but rather in bark mulch. Stems: White at base, bruising blue when handled, fragile(not flexible as with P. semilanceata). Harvested a collection of over ten specimens from this collection for microscopy and herbarium storage for future analysis and study. Odor: farinaceous, the classic powdered sugar scent of most Psilocybin containing species. Willing to send this for DNA analysis/sequencing if the opportunity arises.
