Two specimens fruiting near the base of a fallen, decayed log at the bottom of a wash in mixed woods. When found they were covered with mud which rinsed off fairly readily when I got them home. Lumpy surface, slot-like pores, causing a white rot. Surprisingly, I was able to obtain a macro shot of the finely hairy surface on one of the specimens. Obtained a partial spore print (white).
