In woody debris in area of mixed woods, predominantly eastern white pine/beech. Caps ranging from 2-4 cm wide, convex, hygrophanous, with tones ranging from caramel brown at the center to purplish-brown at outer margins. Purplish red gills with darker colored faces, attached, with some cross-veins. Stems~ 3 cm in length, muted gold tones with scattered purple fibrils, hollow. Spores ovoid, approx. 7.5 x 5 μm.
