Growing at the base of a water oak. Bulb is chiseled and at this point greater in diameter than the caps. The ring is thick and apparently doubled. I don’t know this species well, having never seen it in situ, so I may be off here. There does appear to be some staining on the bulb if the larger fb, which doesn’t fit with abrupta, but I can’t find a better fit.
