A solitary specimen under Oak. Cap: 9 cm., dry (as is the weather), splotches of red on cap and on gills. Stipe: 6 cm. X 2 cm. at apex and 2.7 cm. at base. Flesh firm, solid white, yellowing on outer edges when sliced. Bruising yellow on exterior of stipe and some on cap. Specimen was collected at sundown on the 4th and took on a somewhat browner appearance after a night in the refrigerator, as pictures show. KOH brown on cap, yellow on stipe. Obtained a white spore print.
