Growing in a different location than obs 324324, but I have collected what I believe to be A. rooseveltensis form this spot on my property. Spore morphology for this collection is in line with rooseveltensis, as is the buried basal volva that is difficult to extract intact but does not disintegrate. The aspect that differs from my current understanding of A. rooseveltensis is the dark color seen on the cap (photos are accurate in this respect). The area includes several types of trees, but shagbark hickory seems to be the only reasonable associate for these mushrooms. (Maple, ash, black walnut also present.)
