Growing on a hardwood log with Ionomidotis irregularis observation 337641 and a Ramaria sp. The presence of Ionimidotis irregularis suggests that it was a Fagus grandifolia log. Crowded uniperitheciate and seated on a subiculum. Mature perithecia between 0.5 and 0.7 mm wide (20 measured). Asci unitunicate, thin-walled, 8-spored with the spores uniseriate, and with strongly amyloid apical caps. Spores smooth, brown, lacking extracellular appendages, caps and sheaths. Spores with straight germ slits less than the length of the spore. Spore measurements from Piximetre: (17.5) 19.2 - 23.4 (27.3) Ã- (6.7) 7.5 - 8.8 (9.4) µm, Q = (2.2) 2.3 - 3.1 (3.5); N = 30, Me = 21.5 Ã- 8.1 µm; Qe = 2.7 Individual spores: 17.45 x 7.80 µm, 17.96 x 7.20 µm, 21.22 x 8.09 µm, 26.81 x 8.52 µm, 19.88 x 8.60 µm, 20.77 x 7.46 µm, 21.07 x 7.55 µm, 20.81 x 7.90 µm, 23.28 x 7.91 µm, 20.02 x 8.26 µm, 22.33 x 9.18 µm, 20.33 x 9.40 µm, 19.66 x 7.35 µm, 19.95 x 7.99 µm, 22.81 x 8.74 µm, 24.47 x 7.70 µm, 27.30 x 8.41 µm, 19.21 x 8.67 µm, 22.81 x 8.06 µm, 22.48 x 7.89 µm, 21.21 x 8.51 µm, 22.25 x 8.48 µm, 22.79 x 8.95 µm, 23.39 x 8.71 µm, 19.24 x 7.93 µm, 19.18 x 7.63 µm, 23.45 x 6.74 µm, 21.93 x 7.88 µm, 21.87 x 7.75 µm, 19.95 x 8.76 µm
