Growing in clusters in moss over rock, directly under hemlock in a mixed conifer/hardwood forest. Caps 1-4 cm wide, bluish gray to bluish tan, fading to darker tan at maturity. Caps smooth and dry, plane at maturity, often with bumps or wrinkles. Flesh thin, white. Pores blue to grayish blue, 2-3/mm, decurrent. Stipe 2-4 cm long x 3-8 mm thick, tapering to the base. Colored as the pores except white at the base, smooth and dry, flesh white.
