Growing in open grassy areas, sometimes fairly distant from trees. Caps up to 7.5 cm across surface and somewhat viscid. Weak striations up to 9 mm long. Gills creamy white. Spore print whitish to sl. creamy. Spores not amyloid. Spores 9.0-11.9 X 6.2-8.8 microns, ellipsoid and smooth. Q(range) = 1.35-1.57 Q(avg) = 1.42 n=21 Odor not distinctive. Found similar groups in other parks in the NW Louisiana area. They were usually growing in groups on grass similar to an Agaricus, leading one to wonder if they were saprophytic(?) 10-16-18; A. spreta seems close, but the growth pattern is odd and Q values on these are quite a bit lower.
