Abundant flushes on Red Alder(Alnus rubra) throughout Thurston County recently. This flush was just off of Evergreen parkway in a stand of alders. Pink tinged coloration on young fruiting bodies-fading to grey with mature specimens. I usually come across(and can expect) these abundant flushes to be common in late May to late June here in Western Washington. This FALL season has had daily temps hovering around 70 degrees and thus P. pulmonarius and A. pantherina have been coming up in our usual Spring season locales with vigorous and healthy flushes. Dried and shipped many collections of this lot to a friend in Texas after dehydration.
