In soil/pine duff of mixed wood logging site, eastern white pine/oak. Odor fairly strong, earthy. Caps very viscid, convex, ranging from 3 to 6 cm across, pale tan/grey with occasional embedded reddish fibrils/stains. White/pale grey gills attached, notched. Stipe 3 to 6 cm in length, white, with white cortina that leaves a clear annulus. Reddish fibrils on lower half of stipe. White basal mycelium. Spore print chocolate brown. Spores smooth, ellipsoid, approx. 7 x 4.5 μm.
