-Specimen observed in September -Found fruiting in scattered groups in soil under a mixed forest and ferns -Flat fibrous yellow-brown pileus with visible zonation (rusty brown color in the center) (5.5cm in diameter) -Pileus is dry and shows no apparent color change when bruised/cut -Slightly incurved pileus margin -Attached (notched) hymenium with tight to medium gill spacing -Blood-red hymenium shows no apparent color change when bruised/cut -Equal whitish-yellow stipe with visible annular ring zone -Stipe length: 4.75cm-5cm -Stipe top and base thickness: 1cm -Rusty brown spore print
