-Specimen observed in October -Found fruiting alone in soil under coniferous trees -Flat to sunken pileus that becomes increasingly red towards the center (6cm in diameter) -Pileus is striated and slippery when wet -No color change is apparent when pileus is bruised/cut -Attached white hymenium with medium to broad gill spacing (no color change is apparent when gills are bruised/cut) -Smooth equal stipe -Stipe length: 4.75cm -Stipe top and base thickness: 1.25cm -Creamy white spore print
