The gills in the images are reddish brown, as typical when this species ages. Appearance of cap typical of Tricholoma dryophilum and did not look anything I have read about for a Cortinarius. There were quite a few specimens, some very large often clustered together. There were a small number that still had pale gills, although most were older. The stipes have the reddish-brown wash/markings typical of the species. None appeared to have a true cortina. The caps often break up when larger or older, as expected. Flesh starts out white, then darkens.
