Photographs of germinating ascospores were made on the BH-2 scope at 100x of the spores on the water agar plate. 1/27/2014. Three colonies on plate 4 PDA: tomentose, tuberculate in the center with radiating undulations, center white surrounded by an azonate gray-brown region with discreet white areas, margin diffused, hyphae immersed, transparent, no discoloration in surrounding media, in reverse dark gray brown with discreet white areas, surrounded by white margin, under 40x magnification surface covered with long individual and wirey hyphae and narrow hyphal cords. Colonies on MEYE plates 1 - 3: tuberculate, tomentose, white or mouse-gray, no discoloration of the surrounding media observed, margin entire and clearly defined, transparent and very narrow the hyphae here submerged, in reverse dark gray-brown surrounded by tan, under 40x magnification surface covered with short individual aerial hyphal and short acicular hyphal strands. 2/9.
